By the end of the session the participant will be able to:

• Describe the unique structure and function of the right ventricle (RV), with focus on anatomical and embryological differences between the RV and left ventricle (LV)
• Discuss the importance of RV and pulmonary arterial coupling and its role in RV function and RV failure
• Describe RV adaptation and maladaptation in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and the effectiveness and adequacy of current therapies used in management of PAH
• Given a patient case, formulate a management approach that takes into account RV structure, function, and maladaptation
